For those of you who do not know, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease as child.  I had my first surgery a couple months before my 16th birthday (after several stays in the hospital after being rushed in to emergency).  In 2011, I had a second surgery after suffering ruptured bowel.  That was only after falling into Septic Shock and nearly dying.  My Mom had Crohn's Disease all my life.  My brother has it.  Both twin friends of mine have it.  Both a friend of my brother's and his wife have did their dog.  It's safe to say Crohn's Disease has effected my life dramatically. lol

Therefore, it made perfect sense for me to align myself with their foundation a few years ago.  I've done many different things for them as a photographer, covering events, creating promotional pieces for them, donating auction prizes, etc.  Recently the Manitoba Chapter went back to hosting a gala fundraiser for the first time since I have partnered with them.  Of course I was involved.

Special thanks for another photographer friend of mine Marlene Fast MPA, SPA, F.Ph, of Marlene's Designer Portraits out of Michell Manitoba for her volunteering to help me photograph the gala event.  For the first hour she was doing candid event photography while I was photographing complimentary portraits for the attendees who wanted to have portraits created.  Afterwords, we both photographed the rest of the evening together. These are a mixture of both of our images.

Impact Photographic Design also donated a Family Portrait Session and a finished Portrait valued at over $1,100.00 for their charity auction.  We're already working with the winner to design and photograph their portraits!  In addition, a special offer was made to the attendees of the gala.  If they booked a family portrait session in the month of May (that could be photographed anytime in 2018) an addition $200/per session booked would also be donated to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
